Narrowband UVB and PUVA are prescribed treatments with defined indications, dosimetry, and cumulative-dose monitoring. Their risks are quantified rather than absent — PUVA in particular carries a dose-dependent squamous cell carcinoma risk, which is precisely why cumulative exposure is tracked over a patient's course of treatment. The distinction that matters is medical indication and dose control, not an absence of risk on the medical side.

Two questions, and the cohorts that answer them

Which treatment?
Roughly how many treatments so far?

These are figures for groups of patients, not a prediction about you, and they come from courses of treatment given to treat disease. Your dermatologist already tracks your cumulative dose, and that tracking is the whole point. Nothing here is a reason to stop or delay treatment you have been prescribed.

Nothing on TanPrevent.org concerns, questions, or would restrict access to medically supervised phototherapy. Every policy position on this site is written to explicitly exclude it.
